Listen in as local MVP Trisha Turner shares these answers and so much more!
Born and raised in Saint Johns, Michigan Trisha is a graduate of MSU Landscape Architecture Bachelor's 2009 (all from taking one plant class my freshman year). She had difficulty finding a job in 2009 so she started pursing her accelerated bachelors in nursing. While working on pre-reqs she went to one last job fair in a snow storm that her Dad made her go to, and received five job offers. From there she worked in Livonia for a landscape design build firm and that really shaped the start of her career. Trisha wanted to start a family and new the commute from Howell would be too much with a kiddo so she was hired in at a Landscape Design build in Brighton. Part of her hire in was to buy in and in the winter of 2020 I decided if she buys in was not going to move forward I would start my own business. In Feb 2021 she started Turner Design Group. The company started with just Dad, her, and a $70,000 client for that first season. Now her husband Jonathan is a lead foreman and we are looking for great people for 2022 season. We do not snow plow but rather interior garden which sets us apart. My education in landscape architecture paired with extensive onsite experience provides a unique product for our clients. I'm a Dale Carnegie grad and live my life by many principles!
